Meet the teacher

Hi there! I'm Lauren.

I have over 10 years experience teaching kindergarten through 3rd grade, with a focus in special education.

I have a B.S. in inclusive elementary and special education from Syracuse University.

I also work with children with:

  • autism
  • dyslexia
  • learning disabilities

I have been a private tutor for the past 15 years.

I love watching my students learn, gain confidence, and develop a passion for reading!

What keeps me busiest is being a mom to my two boys, Brody, 5 and Jake, 3.

The kickstart reading idea

My brother, Rob, asked me for help teaching his 4-year-old son to read.

Since we were living across the country, and I couldn’t be there to teach him, I made a few instructional videos that they could watch together.

Rob was impressed with how quickly his son’s reading improved, and how excited he got when a new video arrived.

We teamed up to bring this valuable and fun format to all parents and give their children a kickstart with reading.

What parents are saying:

“Katherine, my 4 year old is loving the videos! She is absolutely devouring them, shouting out the answers, and wants more as soon as they are over!”

Stacy, Mom to 4 year old Katherine

Dads love it too!

“As a first-time parent, it gave me simple tools to teach Ethan how to read.  It’s really empowering.”

–Rob, Dad to 5-year-old Ethan

What parents are saying:

“Kylee LOVES these videos.  She watched them over and over for 45 minutes straight one day!  She gets sooo excited when she gets a word right!  I started using the technique with other word endings. We can’t wait for more!”

Mandie, Mom to 5 year old Kylee

What parents are saying:

“I showed my 4-year-old son the free sample videos and he LOVED them.  I was surprised how interested he was right from the start!  I love how we can use our iPad for something educational because let’s face it mama’s, screen time is inevitable these days!”
